How To Use WhatsApp on Mac Without A Connected IPhone?

Recently WhatsApp has introduced a feature in which a user can link WhatsApp to up to 4 devices at a time without requiring a smartphone. Though the initial drill of linking WhatsApp to another device remains the same the users can access WhatsApp on their devices without needing their smartphone.

Here are the steps to do the same: -

Launch WhatsApp on your iPhone.

Select Settings -> Linked Devices.

Tap Multi-Device Beta, then tap the blue Join Beta button.

Tap Back and select Link a Device on the previous screen.

On your Mac, launch the WhatsApp app or go to web.whatsApp.com in a web browser, then scan the QR code that appears using your iPhone.

Though this feature has proven to be very beneficial for many it comes with a few cons too. One still cannot delete messages through a linked device and also doesn't have the facility to call/video call someone over the web especially if the person is still using an outdated version of whatsApp.

Moreover, the linked divides automatically get un-linked if the user doesn't use his/her phone for a period of 14 days. But WhatsApp ensures that the messages between users are end-to-end encrypted no matter the device. Lastly, because this feature is still in beta, WhatsApp warns users that their service and quality might be affected though users are free to leave beta anytime.

How To Watch Movies And TV Shows Together Using Face Time?

Now that the public beta of iOS 15 has been released a lot of us have started installing this new software on your device and you might be wondering how to take advantage of some of the best new features the iOS 15 has to offer more specifically the face time features lets focus on learning how to use share play which is the feature that allows you to watch movies and listen to music with friends.

All right so first things first to take advantage of either one of these two new features both devices do need to be on iOS 15. So if you're planning on sharing your screen or having watch parties make sure that your friend your family member your significant other whoever else is using this with you is on iOS 15 or IPad as well so screen sharing in iOS 15 is very simple and very effective all you need to do once you're on a face time call is press a button right underneath of the end button on the menu bar so once you tap that you will see share my screen go ahead and tap on that and you will see it does a little countdown right there and then your screen appears on the another person's phone, now your screen will be blurred out at first because you are on the face time call but once you go back to the home screen on the other person's phone, you will see that you could see your screen right there you could also move it around. So this is for the person on the receiving end recording your own screen you're going to be able to operate on your screen as normal.

You will see a little purple icon up in the top left so around the time it will turn purple that indicates that you are still screen recording so you can go into the applications and just do your normal thing now on the receiving end if you are the one being screen shared with you also have the option to put this in full screen so all you need to do is go ahead and tap to the menu bar right there and you will get a little prompt that says join screen sharing and when you tap on open you can see there we have share play but you can see that the screen now shows up in full screen so it takes up your entire screen. when we move on the other phone you can see it moves on now also if you want to stop screen sharing all you must do is simply tap in at the status bar right there and then tap the same icon that you started with and you can see screen sharing just turns off like so screen sharing is cool and definitely very useful but iOS 15 also includes a very awesome feature called share play.

So, this is going to allow you to have watch parties or album listening parties and it basically plays the same media across both devices and multiple devices so that you can react together so to do this the first thing you guys want to do is go into your settings and then you want to go down to face time and then right below our contact information there is a section called share play go ahead and tap on that and then there is a kill switch for share play which after you go into music and tv for the first time these will appear in settings to share play automatically you can turn that on or off from the section inside of settings and now while you're on a face time call just simply start playing a movie a TV show or music and you will see the magic happen.

How To Use Apple’s Find My AirPods Feature To Locate Your Lost Headphones?

Small earbuds, can fall between couch cushions, fly under furniture or wedge deep into a pocket. A few years ago, Apple rolled out a new "Find My" feature that makes it easy to find your lost Air Pods on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. No matter which pair of Air Pods you have the second-generation version, the Air Pods Pro or the Air Pods Max, earbuds can get lost, misplaced or even carried away by the family pet.

Before you can use the "Find My" app to locate anything you've lost, make sure it's set up. Double-check that "Find My" is turned on by opening the Settings app, tap on your name at the top of the screen, then select "Find My". To use the feature, open the "Find My" app and look for your Air Pods in your list of devices. From there, you can see where your Air Pods are located on a map. If you tap the Air Pods icon on the map, you’ll see the option to play a sound from the Air Pods.

The sound will gradually get louder as it plays for two minutes. If you can hear it, but not find it before the sound stops, then tap Play Sound again. In a situation where the Air Pods aren't within range for your phone to trigger a sound, you should still see the last location your phone had a connection to them. An important thing to note is that all of these steps apply only if the Air Pods are out of their case and connected to your iPhone.

How To Optimize Photos To Take Up Less Storage Space On IPhone And IPad

One of the most common complaints with iOS devices is the lack of storage. Many people buy an 8GB or 16GB iPhone or iPad, only to realise that they're quickly running out of space. Although there are a few ways to expand storage on your iOS device, none of those are inexpensive. If you’re running out of iPhone storage space, that doesn’t mean you need to run out and buy a new one. There are lots of things you can do to quickly free up some space.

1. Clear out old photos and video

As iPhone cameras get better and better, the amount of space required to store high-quality video becomes even more demanding. By enabling iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone or iPad, you can instantly free up some much-needed space on your iPhone or iPad. Take advantage of Google Photos, Dropbox, Flickr, Amazon, and more. All you have to do is choose the service that’s right for you.

2. Compress photo library

Apple's built in solution is probably the simplest one. These pictures will be visible in the Photos app, as smaller previews. If you tap on a picture to open it, the app will download it from iCloud.

3. Workflow

Workflow is an excellent automation app for iOS. One of the many things it lets you do is resize photos. Once you've downloaded the app, get a workflow that lets you resize images.

4. Mail them to yourself

This is the most cumbersome way to reduce the size of your photo library. You can open the Mail app, compose a new mail, and attach photos. Now you'll see a prompt that asks if you want to send these mails in their original size or in a lower resolution. Pick a lower resolution and mail these photos to yourself. Once you've mailed yourself these photos, you can clear them off your iOS device.

MacBook Air vs MacBook PRO. Which one is right for you?

The MacBook Air vs Pro conversation is evolving as Apple's laptops are more streamlined now than ever. Right now both of these Apple laptops are better, thanks to recent upgrades like the new Magic Keyboard, which is more reliable and comfortable than the controversial 'Butterfly'-switch keyboards the laptops had previously.  Between the MacBook Air  and the MacBook Pro, we’ll help you decide which laptop is worth your money.

The MacBook Air and Pro share machined aluminum shells, come in silver and space grey, and all have the little lip at the front of the base, for easily opening the screen. The little things, though, might make a difference for you — the Air has a tapered-wedge design, as it always has.

If you want plenty of ports, the MacBook Air is not the best choice. The 16-inch MacBook Pro has four USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports standard — and they're on both sides of the laptop.  Apple's Retina displays are consistently beautiful but the new MacBook Pro's 16-inch, 3072 x 1920-resolution panel is the best yet, and not just because it's large. The screen is crisp, vivid and bright, and surrounded by relatively thin bezels.

The 16-inch MacBook Pro provides exceptional performance but new MacBook Air delivers almost everything you could want in an Apple laptop thanks to its M1 chip, which enables record-setting performance and battery life. MacBook Air with 16GB of RAM scored great in overall performance test, whereas MacBook Pro 16-inch tops the list with RAM up to 64GB.

Battery life is the other place where Apple's move to its own M1 processors has delivered serious wins. The M1 MacBook Air lasted for 14 hours and 41 minutes, while the M1 Pro lasted even longer. The MacBook Air vs Pro debate is closer than ever, with both laptops becoming more equal, which each winning in different ways. If you want the best battery life, go Pro. But, for now, when someone asks you which MacBook they should buy, the conversation still ends at the MacBook Air due to it's price.
